Released 31st March 2011, “Canberra Grown Talent” is a digital compilation album featuring some of the best upcoming artists from Australia’s capital city. Highlights include Dub Dub Goose, Niels Rosendahl, and Three Quarters Hazel.

Just like the city, the Canberra compilation is small (10 tracks) yet diverse, covering everything from Roots, to Electro, to Jazz.

After playing with Pete Murray in the Snowy Mountains and supporting Dragon and INXS, Three Quarters Hazel are well on their way to becoming one of Australia’s favourite bands.  With vocals comparative to Janis Joplin mixed with a high-energy band of musicians, you won’t be able to help yourself but to get up, dance and smile.

 

 

 

Beth n Ben

Beth n Ben’s fusion of Reggae, Roots, Rock and Pop, and their tongue in cheek writing style consistently turn heads and get the crowd moving. Since touring their debut EP “Boarding Pass” in late 2010, they have played the Australia Day pre-fireworks entertainment, Summer Rhythm Festival, and supported Chris Isaak at the Enlighten Festival in their hometown of Canberra.

 

 

 

Lauree Inez

Lauree Inez’s intelligent and poignant songwriting is complimented by her rich and soulful voice. Growing up in isolated western NSW, she had the wide, open plains to sing to, developing a powerful set of vocal chords. She is studying the Advanced Diploma of Music Performance at CIT and released her debut EP “My Aroha” in 2010.

 

 

 

Aria Stone

Aria is a singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist currently playing tenor sax, flute and blues harmonica in the popular Canberra bands “The Jukes” and “The Mighty Bluzicians”. She also performs original songs on acoustic guitar at venues throughout Australia.

Freyja’s Rain will take you on an uplifting journey with their roots infused folk-rock songs. The Canberra based band have been taking venues by storm and are bound to entertain with their soulful singing, lush vocal harmonies and dynamic rhythm section. “Bring on the rain!”

Niels Rosendahl

Saxophonist, composer, and educator Niels Rosendahl currently resides in Canberra, working on various exciting musical projects around the country. After completing a BMus Hons 1 (also receiving the University Medal) in 2005, and with the aid of a BBM Scholarship, Niels resided in the UK from 2006-2008 where he worked as an active professional musician and studied with other internationally renowned musicians.

 

 

Sara Vancea

Sara Vancea dabbles in the world of music, existential variance, and also enjoys the quiet. And she makes a good coffee! Sara is working on her first album “The Big Outside”– not to be confused with a show about BBQ’s. Guitar, piano, vocal and all other instrumentation, recording and mixing is done by Sara, except for the mastered version of “The Big Outside” - guitar by Elmo Reed. Sara’s track can also be found on Austep Music Vol.3.

C.L.I.Mate is a name given to this particular group, but ideally it represents the work of people coming together to perform, write and live life as art. C.L.I.Mate has included many people throughout the past 5 years, playing in both Canberra and Bangkok, Thailand.
